As a Registered General Nurse in both hospital and community settings in a previous life before raising 3 children, followed by a foot injury that left me with discomfort and mobility difficulties for almost 3 years (thankfully now healed), my enthusiasm to re-train as a Foot Health Practitioner (FHP) came to be.
As an FHP, I provide routine foot care to help keep your feet in a healthy condition.
Following an initial assessment, I can offer you appropriate treatment and advice for common conditions such as corns, calluses, verrucae and fungal infections, as well as careful nail trimming and filing to prevent the development of new problems, promoting healthy and comfortable feet.
Foot problems are common and can affect people of all ages, not surprising given how much time most of us spend on our feet either walking, running or standing for long periods of time.
Other factors such as simply getting older or having medical conditions such as diabetes or cardiovascular disease for example, mean a person has a higher risk of developing mild through to serious foot conditions that, as an FHP, I can help prevent or detect for early signs or changes.
A kind, caring and professional service is my intention as a mobile FHP visiting you in the comfort of your own home. I am up to date with all vaccinations and wear protective clothing including a mask, apron and gloves as necessary. Non-disposable equipment is sterilised after each use. I hope this is informative and reassuring; I look forward to hearing from you!
